Paul has over 25 years’ experience in the construction industry with 17 years working as a building inspector across Local Authority and Approved Inspectors sectors. Paul has specialised in working within the high-rise residential sector undertaking compliance oversight on some of the largest residential schemes in England and Wales. Paul has completed a masters degree in fire safety engineering achieving a grade of distinction with his dissertation which was on the effects of electric vehicle fires in enclosed car parks. Paul also has practical firefighting experience from working at West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue service (WYFRS) as a retained fire fighter.

Darren has been working in building control surveyor since 1998 in both public and private sectors. Darren has worked with Building Regulations and supporting documents for over 27 years and has a comprehensive understanding of the application of building regulations within the building procurement and design process. Experienced in advising clients on a wide range of requirements required for Building Safety Act and building control compliance. Darren also has comprehensive understanding of MOD processors, BB100, HTM codes, BS 9991 , BS 9999 and fire engineered solutions. In recent years Darren has provided building control compliance certification for numerous projects within a wide range of industry sectors including data centres, MOD projects, healthcare premises, schools, shops, residential schemes and office/laboratory buildings. Darren registered as a Class 3G/H Specialist Building Inspector in 2024 and has been a full member and Chartered Surveyor of the RICS and CABE for 20 years.

Andy brings a strong understanding of UK planning and building regulations, helping ensure projects are delivered efficiently and to a high technical standard.

Gracinda Ferreira
Gracinda is an accredited PRINCE2 Practitioner with on-the-job experience of project management. She brings to JPI her architectural experience, knowledge in physics and her experience with mechatronics systems. Gracinda is an accredited Architect O.A. in Portugal and Arkitekt M.A.A. in Denmark, and completed a Real Estate Management Post-Graduate at Porto Business School. Her introduction to building safety and compliance granted her a keen understanding of the UK regulatory framework and her focus on high-rise buildings allows her to tackle design and construction issues which are decisive in assuring the occupants and building’s safety over the many aspects under mandated compliance.

Nikki is committed to delivering clear insights and fostering efficiency across the finance function. She is also studying with ACCA to qualify as a Chartered Accountant.

Joining JPI in 2025, Grace brings valuable experience from the engineering sector, having worked there since 2023. She also holds a distinction in Business Administration, further strengthening her capabilities. During her time in engineering, she supported teams in delivering high-profile projects focused on security, AV, and data systems. In her role at JPI, Grace provides essential administrative support, playing a key part in the smooth coordination of project documentation and internal operations, including ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.

Gareth McClelland
Gareth has over 23 years’ experience in the construction industry, including 10 years as a qualified electrician. His strong practical background gives him a solid understanding of how buildings are constructed and the challenges faced on site. He has now enrolled on the Building Control Degree Apprenticeship and is working as an Assistant Building Control Surveyor and works closely with the JPI team to expand his knowledge and progress within the profession. Gareth brings a positive approach, reliable work ethic, and a focus on helping deliver safe, compliant projects.
